I have been with FTA on 2 occassions to K2 and BP. I have no issues with them and agree with the comments on success rates in general on 8000M peaks. The weather is a huge factor and cant be blamed on the guides/Agencies etc. Chris , Ben and Fabrizio are great guys to spend a summer with. I would recommend FTA to anyone with aspirations to climb an 8000M peak.

Thanks for your leadership on the mountain. I thought you guys did a great job. We’ve paid a lot more for other guide services, but on the mountain you guys were top notch. I’d recommend FTA to anyone because of you [Ben], Chris, and Sean. Keep up the good work and I hope we run into each other on the mountain again.
Dave Newell, Aconcagua False Polish 2009
Thank you Stu. This is by far the most informative expedition dossier I have seen for trekking anywhere in the Himalaya or the Karakoram. For me, it virtually eliminates the competition.
K2 BC Inquiry response, 2009
The January Aconcagua trip was a great experience for me personally. I was especially pleased with the quality people you provided in guiding our group. Sean, Ben and Chris proved not only to be excellent guides with high quality professional skills, but they were also just plain “good folks”! I was very pleased with the overall experience. Thanks again for the opportunity to climb with your organization.
Jeff Solomon, Aconcagua False Polish 2009
“The information received from Stu at Field Touring prior to booking the trip and then departure was comprehensive. It allowed me to amass the right kit for the trip and gain an insight into what to expect and how best to prepare physically for the challenge ahead. The organization from arrival in Pakistan, throughout the trip and right up to departure was excellent. As was the food at base camp and the willingness of both the local staff and guides to go the extra mile to ensure the trip was a success and everyone had the best possible chance to summit. Well evidenced by 8 out of the 11 trip members reaching the summit and the efficient way in which the one member who suffered from frostbite was evacuated by helicopter within 6 hours of a request being put in. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stu and all the team at FTA and intend to climb with them again in the future”

“I exactly found what I was looking for, had an unforgettable adventure, gained a lot of experience and met a number of really cool people. And I had a happy end with the summit of course. The guides were great, the HAPs (especially Taqui) as well and everything went out perfect. The trip was already worth it when we reached bc. This was for sure not my last expedition and not my last trip with FTA. I’m really thankful for your support prior because that was the reason for me to join.”

“On behalf of my friends and myself I can confirm that we’ve just had one of the most well organized and exciting trips of our lives. The mountaineering community of Ecuador consists of really intelligent people, which meant that being with Javier and Felipe was not only being safe in the mountains but also a lot of pleasant and interesting time while traveling around. They both are proud of their country, they know everything about its history, current situation, people, customs etc and time with them was very educational. Thanks a lot for putting together such a great trip.”

“I had a terrific time on Broad Peak. The Baltoro was eye-popping. The climb was entertaining. And, the trekking service provided to my wife, Gina, was exceptional.” Francis Slakey (USA) Broad Peak 8047m, Pakistani Himalayas
“I’m personally grateful to you for helping out Pakistan in its time of need. I read about your tent donation and efforts on explorer’s web yesterday and felt proud to have chosen your outfit for my adventure next year. Again, thanks for helping out the Pakistani people.”
Omar Sheryaff (USA) K2 – Broad Peak Expedition
“Of all the expeditions I saw on the mountain, I was glad I was with Field Touring Alpine, I did not want my hand held, but I did want to get to the top. Mission accomplished.”
Jim Donoghue (Ireland) Aconcagua, Argentine Andes.
“I would like to thank you for organizing the Mt Spantik expedition. It was generally well organized and my expectations were met….keep the great work up.”
Andrew Kets (AUS) Spantik, Karakoram Himalaya, Pakistan
“Hi guys, this is Greg Sharman, I've just returned home after my K2 trek which we had 6 beautiful fine days on the Baltoro, seeing all the mountains without a cloud in the sky – amazing view, I've been in the southern alps on NZ, Swiss alps, Patagonia and the Andes all the way up to Ecuador but I think this was the best!”
Greg Sharman (NZ) Pakistan trekking
“Dear Dave, I want to thank you and your staff for an awesome trip! The guide and ATP were great. In particular, Jamie managed the difficult situation of Fabian and Yannick very well. I look forward to my next trip with Field Touring!’
Mandi Dapon (USA) Broad Peak 8047m, Pakistani Himalaya
“I am very grateful for the support I got from your superb local staff during the return trip (when I fell ill early). They paid my stay in Skardu and Islamabad, which, taking the contract strictly, they were not obliged to do. Thanks for the extra help.”
