What is Included?

Field Touring is very consistent with other companies who provide full service trips and you will find yourself staying in the same tea houses, hotels and base camps as companies charging significantly more. We do not try to recreate your home at BC with extensive (and expensive) luxuries but we do have what you really need for a great climb and comfortable BC.

When you have requested information or sign up for a trip you will receive a trip file with the exact items we provide and do not provide. The specific items vary from trip to trip based on the location, duration and technical level but below you will find a general list for our trips.


  • Airport transfers to and from hotels
  • Hotel accommodations for the first nights in town before departing for the trailhead
  • Internal flights (eg Kathmandu to Lukla)
  • Transport in private vehicle to the trailhead
  • Full trekking support including 2 persons per tent, sleeping pads, 3 meals a day
  • Porters for personal gear to BC between (30 and 75kg depending on the trip)
  • BC sleeping set-up: 1 tent and thick mattresses per person
  • Full BC support including3 meals a day, hot water all day
  • BC Set up including messing, shower and toilet tents
  • Access to our satellite phones for calls and SMS and on some trips email
  • All high quality tents, stoves, fuel and cooking pots on the hill
  • Staff support establishing camps
  • 2 hotel nights at the conclusion of the trip in town
  • Western Field Touring staff/guides on the trek
  • All group technical gear
  • Climbing permit fees (except Aconcagua)
  • National Park entry fees
  • All support staff
  • Staff insurance, equipments, travel and food
  • LO insurance and any costs associated (nepal, pakistan)

Not included:

  • Any alcohol, coffee or cold drinks (coffee and cold drinks included at base camp)
  • Meals in town
  • Country visa costs (except Tibet where we do!)
  • International airfares
  • Personal laundry
  • Costs associated with departing the program early
  • Personal evacuation and medical insurance
  • Tips for local and FTA staff
